The Provincial Police of Thailand form the largest component of the Royal Thai Police force and is divided among 10 regions, with Region 5 governing 8 of the 76 provinces of Thailand. 

In an effort to bolster their security and safety efforts, Region 5 decided they needed to adopt a new unified system from which they could manage the security of 5 separate landmark locations via one control room location. Region 5 specified that their new system should include interference-proof centralized command, control, and quick search abilities.

Ultimately, management decided to implement a modern VMS (Nx Witness) equipped with video analytics and fast and reliable video streaming.

Project Challenges

Provincial Police Region 5 of Thailand wanted a solution that would address the following key questions:
  • How can IP video be used in conjunction with a VMS to monitor five separate locations and 226 cameras from one unified interface and control room?
  • How can IP video be used in conjunction with a VMS to process 226 camera streams simultaneously while remaining fast and reliable?
  • How can IP video be used in conjunction with a VMS to sort through a large volume of video to identify potential areas of interest quickly?
 

Nx Witness VMS offers a solution.

Network Optix and CCTV worked together to develop a surveillance solution that addressed each concern according to the given parameters. Nx provided the video management system (Nx Witness VMS) and CCTV provided the hardware (226 HD IP Cameras).

  • System operators monitor and manage live and archived footage from a unified location using Video Wall. 
  • Nx Witness VMS Smart Motion Search with visible indicators allows operators to speedily sort through and organize motion detection across a large volume of captured video.
  • If a System Operator needs to investigate what has occurred they simply open Nx Witness VMS and search archived video for a particular motion detection or event. Nx Witness VMS captures and stores metadata which allows operators to search an entire year of archived video in seconds using associated metadata (tags, bookmarks, etc).
  • Nx Witness VMS enables fast and reliable processing of over 226 streams simultaneously on a large-screen display with high volume/high-value image loads.
  • Nx Witness VMS Smart Motion Search, video analytics, and user-friendly interface reduce the amount of manpower necessary to achieve maximum security.
